How we'll handle covid: challenging the mainstream consensus but offering fact-based coverage with public health in mind
Guidelines: the principles we should follow in responding to the issue
These are divisive issues but it's critically important that we take the right positions. Public health is serious business; countless lives are at stake. That said, there's been much to object to (e.g. lockdowns, arbitrary mandates, etc.). The best way to handle these things is not by taking one of two rigid positions but by laying out a set of principles and priorities, and navigating the issue through that. A rough sketch:
  • Always provide the best public health advice…
We care about the health of the general public and we'd like our own base to not die
  • …While accepting reasonable risk.
We can't and don't want to hide indoors forever
  • Challenge those who'd abuse their power…
There've been countless anti-covid measures to object to; many dumb, unnecessary things
  • …But don't be difficult for the sake of it.
There's been lots of childish, self-harming behavior on the vaxxes
  • Question things, including even the vaxxes…
At least one was legit deadly and there are fair questions about risk vs. reward for certain ages
  • …But not to the point of stupidity.
Vaccines are highly useful tools of public health

This site was ahead of the curve on this. It's not the same story with the mRNA vaxxes but it matters that one of the major vaccines, that people were coerced to take, was in fact genuinely problematic.
