Editor's note: I'm not happy with anything about this file. I had tried to document the sheer volume and consistency of the media and others doing this but cases are overwhelming and I've been unable to keep up. I'm not satisfied with the style of the image as well. This page is a mess too as I've yet to set up a standard page type that can handle multi-image files like this one. I'd like to redo this in the future but I think that nothing less than some sort of more advanced graphical or animated representation of the issue is needed to do it justice, and I'm not ready to do that.
The phenomenon of media, NGOs, and various "experts" telling us to eat bugs has been noticed by many people on the right for some time now. These collages are intended to summarize the issue as effectively and succinctly as possibly, demonstrating how widespread, longstanding, and repeated the campaign has been.
Examples were gathered from original research as well as pulled from various sources. Special mention goes to social media user Zyntrax, whose collages were particularly useful.
Commentary
It's propaganda — that must seem particularly bizarre from a distance — that says so much about what "progress" really means, laying bare a foundational lie of the contemporary liberal order: that our lives are getting better. Regular people are coaxed into making changes to their lives to help in the fight against climate change while being told that those sacrifices are easy and beneficial anyway, but the common man going from widely enjoying red meat to eating bugs represents a clear decline in quality of life.
